Integral's Success
Stories
Integral has a long history
of success. We have helped many customers apply technology effectively. Listed
below are some of the projectes we have worked on.

Page

Ameritech/SBC
One of the major Regional
Bell Operating Companies, SBC/Ameritech selected Integral Corporation to develop
its next-generation Customer Information Database (CiDat) for its Global Marketing
division. In 2000, using Delphi 5.0 and SQL Server 7.0, Integral created initial
working versions of the new system within three months, and won contracts
to continue development of enhanced versions of the system. Integral created
an Executive Information System (EIS) tailored to provide SBC Marketing with
hard numbers and facts about their customers at a fraction of the cost that
other providers such as Accenture (Andersen Consulting) were quoting. Executives
in various SBC divisions have liked the new system so much that several other
divisions are considering implementing the system as well.
Argonne National Labs
(http://www.anl.gov/)
Argonne National Laboratory
- performs research and development in the basic sciences, energy, and environemtal
management. Integral Corporation designed a cluster of Linux servers for the
Intensified, Pulsed Neutron Source division of Argonne National Laboratories.
The cluster is primarily used for computationally intensive Monte Carlo simulations
(what-if). Our initial three server Linux cluster replaced an older cluster
of 34 systems! Additional servers have been added to the cluster, further
boosting its computational power. Other Integral systems in use at Argonne
include several servers used in Argonne's Network Information System (similar
to Microsoft's NT Domains).
Christopher Burke Engineering
Christopher Burke Engineering
is one of the best known water resource engineering firms in Illinois. In
1993, Integral designed and installed a 200+ node network over three floors
for them. Today, we work in conjuction with Burke's network administrator
on a variety of daily and long term networking and Internet issues. Integral
provides Burke with T1 1.544 Mbps Internet access, and worked with Burke engineers
to implement a Linux based mail server for hundreds of users and multiple
operating companies within the Christopher Burke Group..
City of Naperville
Integral partnered with UPG Communications to provide a touch screen kiosk system to welcome visitors to Naperville's Municipal Center, allowing 24 hour access to information about the city, guiding maps to the various departments, and even a welcome video from the mayor.

Computer Redeployment Program - Naperville School Districts 203 and 204. 2009- Present
Every year, like many businesses, Naperville School Districts replace existing computers and technology and bring in new systems. Old systems were discarded or sold to recyclers. Integral was a founding member of the Computer Redeployment Program, which uses student volunteers to refurbish this amazing resource to give the computers back to kids in need. This program has given over 1800 computers back to students (770 in District 204), sales of extra computers has raised over $150,000 for the Napervile Education Foundation, and it has helped students develop invaluable team, business, and leadership skills, in addition to providing near-current technology to kids who didn't have a computer at home. Integral was a recipient of an award from the Illinois State Board of Education for this innovative program.

Integral Computer Redeployment Program provides over 500 laptops to kids in need.
August 2014: Integral led a project with Indian Prairie School District 204 and a team of 25 students volunteers to refurbish 561 laptop computers and give them back to school kids who don't have a computer. Computers were given to middle school and high school students who could not afford a computer at home.
DuPage County Department
of Environmental Concerns
The DuPage County Department
of Environmental Concerns is responsible for overseeing the various building
projects throughout DuPage County. One of their primary concerns is the disposition
of stormwater that is displaced by new building developments. A significant
amount of permits and other paperwork is generated by the department. In 1995,
Integral lead the changeover of EC from their old, slow Token Ring network
to Fast Ethernet, and implemented new Compaq ProLiant file servers and Integral
PC's, achieving major performance gains for EC's Geographical Information
Systems (GIS). In 1999, Integral developed a custom software package written
in Visual Basic and ImageBasic to create a document imaging system which automated
a significant portion of EC's permitting process, allowing tracking of permits
in progress as well as digitally recording images of paper documents - greatly
reducing their paper bloat.
DuPage County Department
of Transportation
Integral Corporation provides
file servers, networking equipment, and consulting services for DOT's local
area networks. We recently upgraded their servers to a dual processor 1 Ghz
Pentium III Intel SC5000 system, which offers up to 10 hot swap hard drive
bays and redundant power supplies, and integrated it into DOT's hybrid Fast
Ethernet and TokenRing network.
Eskay Screw Corporation
Eskay Screw uses Integral's
LanCare service for network support. We work in
conjuction with Eskay's network administrator on a variety of daily and long
term networking and Internet issues, and make regular, weekly visits to their
site to support their computing environment.
Fermi National Accelerator
Facility/Fermilab (http://www.fnal.gov)
Fermilab is a high-energy
physics laboratory, home of the world's most powerful particle accelerator,
the Tevatron. Scientists from across the U.S. and around the world use Fermilab's
resources in experiments to explore the most fundamental particles and forces
of nature. Integral designed Linux based high capacity network storage servers
for Fermilab. Our first generation storage server features dual processor
Pentium III's and 1.6 Terabytes (1600 Gigabytes) of hot swappable data storage
using industry-standard off the shelf components.
Our storage servers are
also used in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, a project that is creating a field
guide to the universe as it creates a map of the hundreds of millions of galaxies
that make up our cosmos. "Sloan produces 600 pictures through five different
filters every hour.", "Hundreds of gigabytes of digital pictures
are delivered weekly to Fermilab for compilation that, over the next three
years, will deliver the most comprehensive map of the hundreds of millions
of galaxies that make up what astronomer Carl Sagan called the "cosmos."

Fermilab also uses Integral's
Linux workstations as High Performance PC's. The roles our systems serve are
varied; several are used in the systems development arena; several are intricate
front end nodes for cluster research; and the remainder are used for "number-crunching"
or data analysis. As front ends to Fermilab's clusters, our systems are the
initial entry point into the clusters that perform data analysis of sub particle
collisions (several steps beyond initial collision and sub quark collisions).
For systems development, Integral's systems are used for Kernel and device
driver development specialized for the HPPC (High Performance PC) arena. Only
used in scientific research. However, much of their development is released
as open source back to the community in general.
All of Integral's Linux
workstations are specification built. They meet a very specific set of criteria
as to component quality and system performance. All of our workstations have
consistently exceeded the specifications and in all but one case, out performed
all other high-end workstation manufacturers.
Mortgage Bancorp Services
(http://www.mortgagebancorp.com)
Mortgage Bancorp Services
is a mortgage broker based in Palatine, Illinois. Integral Corporation designed
their web site and local area network. MBS's web site is hosted in MBS's offices
on Integral web servers. Their mortgage brokerage software runs on Integral's
dual processor Pentium III Windows 2000 Servers using Terminal Services from
thin client Capio computers.
North Coast Music Festival - 2011
Imagine creating a fully functional data network covering almost 13.4 acres, with temperatures reaching up to 100 degrees at some times, rain at others, over a 4 day festival, with tens of thousands of guests, and major sponsors like Group On looking on. This is a challenge that Integral took on with only one week to prepare in 2011. This festival is held annually in Union Park - with no power, no network wiring, just one day to setup, a major street separating one of the entertainment stages from the other 2 stages, and plans to offer live streaming video of the main stage over the internet. Taking power from generators powering the main stages, microwave Internet, we created a wired and wireless network that provided guest checkins, streamiing video, and network operations in some of the most extreme conditions.

The Ad People
The Ad People are an advertising
agency based in Skokie, Illinois, that specializes in car advertising and
election campaigns. We developed a custom software package using Visual Basic
6.0 and Access 2000 that allows them to place ads with various media such
as print, radio, tv, or billboard, to generate ad calendars for clients, to
track costs associated with ads, to bill customers, and to integrate their
media payables with their Solomon accounting system.
Wheaton Sanitary District
When it came time to replace it's 1960's era Sanitary Plant monitoring system, the Wheaton Sanitary District came to Integral to provide the technology. Using just one PC, Integral created a 6-display system to run the custom software that monitors every aspect of WSD's operations. We also installed five file servers to run their accounting, GIS, email, and other daily operations.
